Final quotes are confirmed before any work
The figures above are starting points, not the whole story. We give you the actual price in writing, and we do not start until you have agreed it. If something unexpected turns up mid job, we stop and tell you rather than adding it to the bill.
What moves the price
- The size of the property. A one bed flat has far fewer circuits than a four bed house with a garage and an outbuilding.
- How many circuits are on the board. Every circuit gets tested individually, so the count drives the time.
- Access. A boarded loft, a blocked cupboard or a board behind a fitted wardrobe all add time to the job.
- The state of the existing installation. Older systems take longer to test and need more care.
- What we find. Remedials are quoted separately, item by item, and never assumed.
What the EICR price includes
- Inspection and testing of every circuit on the board, dead and live.
- The written report, with each observation coded and explained.
- The PDF by email, ready to forward to a tenant, an agent or a solicitor.
- A written price for any remedials, so you know the full picture in one go.
Making a C1 danger safe at the time of the test is part of doing the job responsibly. We tell you what we did and why before we leave the property.
Blocks of properties
If you are a landlord or a letting agent with several addresses in Test Electrical, send the list. Pricing them together lets us plan the route and the diary sensibly, and you get a single written quote covering the lot. See the landlords and letting agents page for how a block booking runs.
Questions about pricing
Is the price per property or per circuit?
Per property. We look at the size and the number of circuits to work out the figure, then give you one price for the job. You are not billed by the hour and you are not charged extra for circuits we did not know about, because we ask before we quote.
Do I pay if the report is unsatisfactory?
Yes. You are paying for the inspection, the testing and the report, and you get all three whatever the verdict. The repairs are a separate, separately priced job that you choose whether to go ahead with.
Can you price a fuseboard change without visiting?
We can give you the starting point over the phone. The confirmed price needs us to see the board, the earthing and the incoming supply arrangement, because that is what decides how much work is really involved.
Do you charge to come and quote?
No. Pricing your job is our time, not yours. Ring or email with the details and we will tell you what it costs before you commit to anything.
